Next Step Acute Rehabilitation Center:

"Helping You Back to Health"

After illness, injury or surgery, your physician may prescribe inpatient rehabilitation to complete your program of care. The Gnaden Huetten campus of the Blue Mountain Health System offers Next Step Acute Rehabilitation Center, where we provide individualized and flexible treatment programs designed for people disabled by injury or illness. Each person referred to the program is first evaluated before a rehabilitation plan is developed by an interdisciplinary team. The plan is then implemented as the "next step" in the rehabilitation process - the development of the skills necessary to live as independently and productively as possible.

Regaining independence: Our primary mission is to have the patient master basic skills that will afford the opportunity to live and work independently. Physicians refer patients who have the potential to improve and are able to start the program of rehabilitation. The type of individualized rehab the patient receives will address physical or medical problems, difficulties with the activities of daily living and mobility and specialized problems with feeding, communication and attention.

Referrals and Admissions: Next Step welcomes referrals from physicians, social workers, family members, insurance representatives, case managers and patients. Next Step accepts patients from other hospitals, from assisted living facilities and from home. Next Step rehabilitation is covered by most major medical insurance carriers, including Medicare.

Next Step Acute Rehabilitation is located in Lehighton at the Gnaden Huetten campus of the Blue Mountain Health System. For more information, to make a referral or to schedule a visit and tour, call Next Step Acute Rehabilitation Center at 610-377-7140.
